Dearest reader,

I must first today begin by saying that the arrival of the highfalutin Duke of Hastings in London early last morn’ has had quite the effect on the eligible ladies of the town, and there is no denying that it is apparent why.

It appears that the arrival of the Duke has even taken Lady Danbury, whom the Duke shall be residing with for his time in London, by surprise after his 3 year absquatulate.

From his chiselled jawline to his perfectly bodacious figure, it isn’t a wonder that the ladies of the town are swooning at the very sight.

Perhaps he may be the perfect match for this season’s incomparable, a diamond of the first water…

Miss Daphne Bridgerton.

It is worth noting here, dear reader, how much I loathe the naming structure of the Bridgerton children. Alphabetically named with not a reason behind the matter. It is perfectly obscure to say the very least…

It has been rasied to my attention that Lady Featherington is to be taking a Miss Marina Thompson under her wing “for charity” as she would have it said. We all know that it is for no other reason than that of her husband Lord Featherington demanding it be done. Most undignified.

Miss Marina Thompson is a distant cousin of the family with no close family or relatives, and so, it is left to the Lady of the house to sponsor her debut. I am certain it will be a most spectacular debut at that.

To finish with dear reader, every eligible lady of breeding shall attend the Danbury ball this evening, I am sure, wearing some lavishly trimmed frock, blood-thirsty mamas at their sides…

And wary fathers making arrangements for only the most advantageous of matches.
